Is Sytox fixable?
Non-fixable Membrane Permeability Stains: SYTOX Dead Cell Stains (Cat.
What is Sytox red?
SYTOX™ Red dead cell stain is a simple and quantitative single-step dead-cell indicator for use with red laser-equipped flow cytometers. SYTOX™ Red dead cell stain is a high-affinity nucleic acid stain that easily penetrates cells with compromised plasma membranes but will not cross uncompromised cell membranes.
Can you stain dead cells?
TO Iodide, also known as TO-PRO®-1, is a green fluorescent, cell-impermeant nucleic acid stain that can be used to stain dead or fixed cells. TO Iodide, also known as TO-PRO®-1, is a green fluorescent, cell-impermeant nucleic acid stain that can be used to stain dead or fixed cells.
What does Sytox green stain?
SYTOX Green nucleic acid stain is an excellent green-fluorescent nuclear and chromosome counterstain that is impermeant to live cells but penetrates the compromised membranes characteristic of dead cells, making it a useful indicator of dead cells within a population.
What is DRAQ5?
DRAQ5™ is a cell permeable far-red fluorescent DNA dye that can be used in fixed or non-fixed/ live cells in combination with common labels such as GFP or FITC. As with any cell-permeant DNA intercalating probe, DRAQ5 may inhibit cell division in long-term assays and should be tested for any effect.
What is viability staining?
Viability Staining Viability stains differentiate between live and dead bacterial cells in a sample. These fluorescent stains base differentiation on whether or not the cytoplasmic membrane of the cell is intact.
Can I fix cells after live dead staining?
No. LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell Stain kits are fixable viability dyes that distinguish live cells from dead cells based on cell membrane integrity and access to available amines. Cells can then be fixed for intracellular antigen detection without loss of original cell staining pattern.
How does Sytox blue work?
SYTOX® Blue nucleic acid stain is an excellent blue-fluorescent nuclear and chromosome counterstain that is impermeant to live cells, making it a useful indicator of dead cells within a population. The excitation/emission maxima for the dye bound to DNA are 444/480 nm. For Research Use Only.
What is Sytox orange?
SYTOX™ Orange Dead Cell Stain is a bright, easy-to-use nucleic acid stain for distinguishing dead from live cells in flow cytometry assays. It is excitable at 532 nm with an emission profile similar to R-PE, and has been tested in an assortment of cell types.
What does DRAQ5 stain for?
DRAQ5™ Fluorescent Probe is a far-red DNA stain for fluorescent cellular imaging applications with live or fixed cells. Because of its far-red excitation and emission, the DRAQ5 Stain can be multiplexed with many other fluorophores.
How do I use DRAQ5?
Add DRAQ5™ directly as supplied to a final concentration of 5 – 20µM to the cells. Alternatively, DRAQ5™ can be added to the fresh buffer/ media prior to resuspending the cells in it. 4. Gently mix the cells and then incubate for 5 – 30 minutes at Room temperature.
