The Starfarer-Gemini is supposed to have better hull armor. While the Starfarer is a MISC ship, the Starfarer-Gemini is an Aegis ship. Perhaps it’s possible that this could limit the compatibility of parts designed for one or the other (not confirmed, just a personal thought).
