Are FoodSaver and seal-a-meal bags interchangeable?
The vacuum sealing process used by FoodSaver and Seal-A-Meal sealers is the same overall process. This allows the Seal-A-Meal bags to be used with a FoodSaver to store food. The length of time food will last varies based on the type of food and if the bag is also refrigerated or frozen.
Can I use any bag with seal-a-meal?
If you want to use your FoodSaver® appliance to re-seal, but not vacuum package a bag (without removing the air first) you can use it on Mylar type (strong, thin polyester) or stiff plastic bags, not any other types.
What size bags does seal-a-meal use?

Can you vacuum seal twice?

Can you boil food in FoodSaver bags?
Yes. You can heat cooked foods, such as leftovers, in a FoodSaver® bag. The bags should never be used to cook raw foods.
Why won’t my Seal-A-Meal work?
The soft rubber gaskets on the top and bottom of the unit can dry out. You can rehydrate them by dipping your finger in water and running it along them. If that doesn’t work, carefully pull them out and soak them in water to rehydrate them, and then re-insert them.
How thick are seal-a-meal bags?
