Is North Face jacket water proof?

Water-resistant jackets and pants usually have a DWR (durable water repellent) finish on the exterior that repels moisture and keeps you dry in light rain or snow. If the jacket features a waterproof breathable membrane, laminate or other comparable waterproof technology, then it is usually considered waterproof.
Can I wear North Face puffer in the rain?
We do not recommend wearing unprotected The North Face ProDown items in the rain if possible, as they will eventually saturate and clump like other down products.
Is North Face 700 waterproof?
All the down, all the puff. The features on the Nuptse are a little light on the ground, but nothing key is missing. There is a standard center zip closure on the front of the jacket, but no storm guard so it’s not super waterproof.

How do you waterproof a puffer?
To be fully waterproof the seams also need to be taped. Spraying your down jacket with a waterproofing agent such as Nikwax TX Direct will only apply a layer of DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating to the fabric. (Just in case you didn’t know, there’s already one on there!)
