Is it cold sleeping in the ice hotel?
At night, you’ll want to sleep in a single light layer (like thermal pajamas). It’s cold, but not that cold. The temperature inside an ice hotel room is usually around 23 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Although it’s pretty far from tropical, it’s not going to plunge too far past freezing.

The hotel itself is 4-star and offers free wifi in all rooms. Guests have a choice of 7 different types of rooms and suites, and it has attractive well-appointed no-smoking rooms. You can even spend the night in an igloo directly overlooking the ice fjord from May to October.
Do ice hotels have toilets?
There are no bathrooms (except the Deluxe Suites) or storage in the Ice rooms or Art suites. These facilities are housed in a heated service building, where you also keep your belongings during the night. The service desk is staffed 24 hours.
Is it worth staying in the ice hotel?
The ice hotel is worth to see, especially the Art Suites, which are made from artists around the world. However, I can’t recommend to stay in the ice hotel overnight.
Does the ice hotel melt every year?
Every year, we borrow ice from the river to build a new, seasonal hotel of ice and snow, which eventually melts and returns back to its origin come spring.
How do you stay warm at the ice hotel?
Outdoor winter wear such as warm overalls, warm boots, hats and mittens are included when you stay at Icehotel. Your base layer or thermals, including long-johns and a long-sleeved t-shirt, should ideally be made out of wool, but also remember to pack fleece sweaters, a scarf and plenty of warm wool socks.
